New Co-Coordinator at Commission on Deaf & Hearing Impaired
Sara Gerhold, CDHI Interpreter Coordinator is pleased to announce that Ms. Holly Mayo has accepted the position of Interpreter Coordinator, effective June 30, 2011.
Holly graduated from Hillsborough Community College (Tampa, FL) with an A.S. degree in Interpretation, from the University of South Florida with a B.A. degree in Educational Interpreting, and has a Masters’ degree in Interpretation from Gallaudet University. Prior to accepting this position, she was employed as Interpreter Liaison for the School District of Palm Beach County in West Palm Beach, FL, and as Educational Interpreter for Hampton City Schools in Hampton, VA. Dually certified by Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), Holly has worked in many capacities ranging from agency staff, interpreter coordinator at a government intelligence agency, self employment, adjunct instructor and as a full time educational interpreter. Her contributions to the interpreting profession also include being a presenter, guest speaker, mentor and evaluator for state assessments.
