Governor’s New Budget Proposal Affecting Services of the Deaf!!

(Remember that this is not final but just the proposal of Governor Rell!)

Governor Rell’s budget proposal shows that Commission on Deaf and Hearing Impaired (CDHI) is closed but its interpreting department only is moved to Department of Social Services (DSS) with the budget of $312,944.00.

In addition, American School for the Deaf (ASD) would receive the reduced budget of $9,480,242.00, and National Theatre of the Deaf (NTD) also would receive the reduced amount of $97,469.00 from the state.
