Consumer, Family and Community Advocacy Weekend
An exciting course, Consumer, Family and Community Advocacy, is being offered at Pennsylvania School for the Deaf (PSD) during the weekend of Feb. 20-21, 2010. It will be taught by one of Gallaudet’s College of Professional Studies and Outreach (CPSO) instructors, Kevin Nolan, Jr. This course is open to deaf and hard of hearing individuals and parents of deaf and hard of hearing children. The course focuses on improving the quality of life for deaf and hard of hearing consumers and their families. The training focuses on advocacy, as a process, and the tenets of effective advocacy efforts at the local, state, and national levels.
