American School for the Deaf on TV Thursday, December 17, 2009

On Thursday, December 17, from 8:00-9:00 p.m., Connecticut Public Television (CPTV ) will be airing a new documentary, The Power of Giving: Philanthropy. This one hour documentary explores the impact that philanthropy and charitable initiatives have had on today’s culture and the role that personal generosity plays in meeting the needs of society. Among those philanthropists featured are Mason Cogswell and Thomas Gallaudet. Gary Wait, our renowned archivist, did a fabulous job depicting both gentleman and the history of ASD. Other philanthropists featured are Andrew Carnegie, Daniel Wadsworth and Paul Newman to name a few.

At the end of the documentary you will also see two familiar teachers, Becky Peters and Kathy Falco so please stay clued until the end.
