New Area Code for telephone users in Connecticut…….. As of November 14th, the new area code 475 will be added to the 203 area and 959 will be added to the 860 area.

10-Digit Phone Numbers for Deaf Consumers. Local 10-digit phone numbers is mandatory for internet-based Relay, Instant Messaging Relay, Video Relay Service and Federal VRS customers. Your 10-digit number will allow hearing people or business to dial you directly. If you did not apply for it by November 12, 2009, you will lose your access, and might go through the red tape to get the 10-digit phone numbers. Please do it now or ASAP.
